The fuel light has been blinking at me for a few days, and the fuel range has been showing me that the car has hardly any distance left to travel before it runs out of diesel. But I always think these things are set slightly high to allow for error. Well tonight at 5pm on Weybridge High Street - right in the middle of the really busy rush hour - I discovered that the fuel gauge on the Range Rover is deadly accurate!!!! I also found out to my horror that when the car splutters and stalls because there isn't a drop of fuel left in the tank - the power steering and power assisted brakes fail too!!!!
