For when you watch this film. "The Pursuit of Happyness" starring one of my favourites Will Smith. It's a great film, and if you haven't seen it I suggest that you do. It's a true story - which I always feel makes films better.
Oh my god this film was so depressing. Victoria and I really like Will Smith and this film was advertised like a light comedy but when we came to watch it we had 2 hours of the most depressing time ever!
OK, so the ending is uplifting, but it is in no way balanced by the 2 hours of incredible depression that came before.
I'm all for real life stories in films but this was too much. Let's think about it. The guy had 2 years of hard work and worrying about his kid but had since had 25 years of living in luxury. Well done to him I say, now ,make a happier film!!!
Watch something more cheerfull instead. Something like Schindlers List or Jude.
